Drink More Water
Last updated: July 22, 2026
Drink More Water is a hydration tracker for Android. It is built to keep your information on your own device. It has no accounts, no analytics profiles, and no advertising, and it never sends your health data to any server operated by us.
Drink More Water is developed and operated by Nick Palmer, trading as TrailingStopLoss.com ("we", "us"). For any question about this policy or your data, contact drinkmorewater@trailingstoploss.com.
Everything you enter lives in the app's own storage on your phone. We do not have a copy, and we cannot see it. This includes:
Health information stays with you. Some of the optional inputs above are health-related. They are stored only on your device (and, if you turn on backup, in your own Google account). We never receive them, never sell them, and never use them for advertising.
The app offers an optional backup feature so you don't lose your history when you change phones. It is off until you turn it on.
When you enable it and sign in, the app saves a single backup file into the
hidden application data folder of your own Google Drive (the
drive.appdata scope). This folder is private to the app: it does not
appear in your normal Drive view, and no other app — and no person, including us —
can read it. The data goes from your phone directly to your Google account.
It does not pass through, and is not stored on, any server we operate.
We request only the drive.appdata permission. The app cannot see, open,
or touch any of your other Google Drive files. We do not request your name, email,
profile, or contacts.
| Permission | Why | Who can see the data |
|---|---|---|
drive.appdata |
To save and restore your backup file | Only you, through your own Google account |
Android may also back the app up automatically through your device's built-in Google backup, if you have that turned on in your phone's settings. That is a feature of Android and your Google account, not something we run, and the data stays within your Google account. You can control or disable it in your device settings under Google backup.
The app also lets you export a backup to a file and import it later. When you do this, you choose where the file is saved and who it is shared with. Those files are entirely under your control.
You are always in full control. To remove your data:
| Data | Where it lives | How it's deleted |
|---|---|---|
| Hydration history, goal, settings, streaks, and any optional profile or context details you entered | On your device | Clearing the app's data or uninstalling removes all of it immediately |
| Backup file (a copy of the above) | The hidden app folder of your own Google Drive | Delete it from within the app, or revoke the app's access in your Google Account |
| Backup files you exported yourself | Wherever you chose to save them | Delete the file |
We retain nothing. We operate no server and hold no copy of your information, so there is no data on our side to delete and no retention period that applies to us. Once you have removed the data from your device and your Google Drive, no copy remains anywhere.
If you would like help removing data, email drinkmorewater@trailingstoploss.com and we will walk you through it.
Drink More Water is a general-audience hydration app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect in a released version of the app.
